Canon Slade School is a member of the Bishop Fraser Trust, a C of E multi academy trust established in 2017. This is an exciting time to join us as it provides a great opportunity to work closely with the other three High Schools in the MAT - St James’s C of E High School, Bolton St Catherine’s Academy and Bury C of E High School: sharing good practice and building on our ongoing progress.


WE ARE SEEKING A PASSIONATE CANDIDATE WHO:

  • Carry out First Aid duties/administering medications daily.
  • Organise the immunisation programme, with support from the Office Manager and external agencies.
  • Organise the annual flu vaccination programme.
  • Administer accident forms and weekly review of forms with the Business Operations Manager.
  • Liaise with parents on first aid matters.
  • Attend school events as Lead First Aider, including the transition evening, sixth form opening evening, Founders Day, carol service, school open evening, school shows and dance shows.
  • Contact parents of new intake (incoming Year 7) for those with specific medical needs.
  • Maintain digital records for analysis by the Office Manager.
  • Maintain stock of first aid equipment.
  • Collate first aid packs for out-of-school events as required (fixtures/trips).
  • Communicate to staff regarding changes to procedure or individual circumstances.
  • Organise first aid training and medical needs training across school.
  • Arrange training/refresher training for all qualified first aiders.
  • Maintain and test the school defibrillator machines.
  • Contribute to writing health plans for students with medical needs.
  • Liaise with external agencies.
  • To work within the Student Services team, assisting with all administrative duties as required and as directed by the Office Manager.

 

YOUR MAIN DUTIES WOULD BE:

To be the Lead First Aider within the school and a member of the Student Services Admin Team.
